“Meet the Model”

Jason Franchini

**Personal & Career Journey**

Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you started your modeling career?

I’m Jason Franchini, 20 years old, based between Luxembourg and Paris. My modeling career actually started by accident. I once posted a photo of myself and was contacted by someone claiming to be a model scout. It turned out to be fake, but it was the spark that introduced me to the industry. Since then, I’ve pushed myself into this world step by step and kept growing.

I’ve always been a very confident person, and I’ve always felt different. I knew I wasn’t made for a “normal” path. I belong in front of people, in front of cameras, in front of the world. Modeling gives me the space to be seen and to express that side of myself.

What inspired you to become a model?

What inspires me is the fact that in modeling, you can truly be yourself and at the same time, you can use your image to represent a brand. That’s fascinating to me. I love that with my face and energy, I can switch between so many different moods and roles, bringing something new to each shoot or runway.

Was there a defining moment that made you realize modeling was your true passion?

The defining moment was when I realized how natural it felt for me to be in front of the camera. After my first experiences, even with challenges, I saw how much energy it gave me. That was when I knew, this isn’t just a hobby. This is what I’m meant to do. This is the reason why my heart is beating…

**Industry Experience & Challenges**

What has been the most exciting or memorable shoot you’ve worked on?

One of my most memorable experiences so far was walking on a runway at the Cannes Film Festival, it was my very first runway show, and that moment meant a lot to me. Another unforgettable highlight was a recent shoot and video project in Paris for a renowned Parisian fashion brand. We shot in the streets surrounded by tourists and people watching us, and for the first time, I truly felt like a successful model. It was a premiere for me and a moment I’ll never forget.

Have you faced any challenges in the modeling industry? If so, how did you overcome them?

Yes, one of the biggest challenges has been finding an agency that I truly want to work with, especially considering my height. Up until today, I haven’t signed with any agency, which can sometimes feel like a barrier. But instead of letting that stop me, I use it as motivation to keep pushing, building my portfolio, and proving that talent and confidence are just as important as meeting traditional standards.

How do you prepare for a big shoot or runway show?

For me, preparation is about being in the right situation and mindset. I make sure to sleep well, relax, and not stress too much. For a runway, I’ll practice my walk; for a shoot, I’ll focus on looking fresh, confident, and natural in front of the camera. It’s really about staying chill and enjoying the process.

**Future Goals & Advice**

What are your biggest career goals for the future?

In the near future, my biggest goal is to sign with an agency that believes in my potential, even if I don’t fit the “standard” height requirements. At the same time, I want to grow internationally through social media, so I can land jobs independently and not rely solely on an agency.

Do you have any dream collaborations or brands you'd love to work with?

Yes, absolutely. Dolce & Gabbana would be a dream for me, because it reflects exactly the style I want to represent. Versace is also at the top of my list, since their boldness and energy match my personality.

What advice would you give to aspiring models looking to break into the industry?

The most important thing is: don’t give up. Don’t let other people’s doubts or industry standards hold you back, and don’t let your own mind play tricks on you. Always keep your goals in front of you, stay consistent, fight for it every day, and give your best. If you do that, the results will come naturally with time.

**Creative Process & Style**

How would you describe your modeling style?

I’d describe my style as confident, strong, and a bit edgy. My look naturally has an arrogant, self-assured expression, powerful and masculine. But at the same time, I’m very versatile and flexible. I can adapt to different moods and roles, whether it’s editorial, commercial, or runway. That mix is what makes modeling so exciting for me.

Do you prefer editorial, commercial, or runway modeling, and why?

I enjoy all three, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be runway. On the runway, I can really be myself and show my confidence naturally. Editorial and commercial work are also amazing, because they allow creativity and let me explore different sides of myself. Honestly, I love all three for different reasons, and I think the variety is what keeps modeling exciting and challenging.

What role do you think storytelling plays in modeling?

Storytelling is extremely important, because it’s what brings the emotions to life. A pose or a look isn’t just about appearance,  it’s about expressing something deeper and making people feel connected to what they see. At the end of the day, storytelling is what makes an image powerful and unforgettable.

**Influences & Inspirations**

Are there any models, photographers, or designers who have inspired you?

Definitely. Kate Moss is a huge inspiration for me. She was also a petite model, and yet she broke barriers and became one of the most iconic names in fashion. Whenever I feel the industry pushing back with its norms, I remind myself that she made it despite those challenges and if she could do it, I believe I can too.

How do you stay motivated and continue growing as a model?

I stay motivated by simply never giving up, even on the days when I feel less confident. Consistency pays off… I keep working, keep practicing, and keep moving forward. Of course, I’m not motivated 24/7… it would be a lie to say I am. But even on tough days, I give my best and keep my goals in sight. That’s what helps me grow.
