“Get To Know My Hair Stylist”
**Personal & Career Journey**
Can you tell us about your background in hairstyling? How did you get started in the industry?
I was the girl in the high school locker room curling everyone’s hair before our next class, so it’s safe to say hair has always been a part of my story!
What inspires your hair designs? Do you have any specific trends or styles you gravitate toward?
Radiance is what I am seeking in all styles and designs. I want a star’s hair to glow just as much as they do for a proper representation of who they are..
When working on a photoshoot or editorial, how do you collaborate with the photographer and creative director to ensure the hairstyle aligns with the overall vision?

Typically, when I’m working on any project I try to get perspective through the eyes of the director whoever’s vision it is I want that same vision also.

**Personal & Career Journey**
Do you have a signature style or technique that you’re known for? What sets you apart from other hairstylists?
**Industry Experience & Challenges**
Can you walk us through the process of creating a hairstyle from concept to final look on set?
When on set, if the hair is not completing the look and feel of the vision then it will throw everything off and will be easy for me to tell. In order for me to feel satisfied I have to see the vision come to life like an animated picture.
What’s your favorite product or tool that you use for styling? Why does it stand out for you?
A good hot tool, whether it be a flat iron or curler makes me feel complete when shooting because it gives me the ability to create with power!
What challenges do you face on set, and how do you manage them to ensure the hair is flawless throughout the shoot?
Sometimes on set we experience stars being nervous and it happens and it’s understandable. Hair is like a plant that is alive and speaks to you. It absorbs what’s happening deep in the soil and releases the biproduct. So when someone is nervous, so is there hair. Fortunately, we have products to counteract these types of things whilst also supporting the one in the spotlight.
Everyone I work with is a star and they shine so bright! Recently I worked on a Minecraft commercial and that was very fun and interesting for me because I did not think I would be in an environment where games are everywhere. It made me think of all my nephews that play the game and love it and how I was standing in a room of their ultimate dream at this time of their life, that was touching!
What advice would you give to aspiring hairstylists looking to break into the editorial or fashion industry? Model?
The biggest technique that I use is the art of vivid imagination because it can be so abundant that it may overwhelm others in other crafts, but being able to harness this tool has been pivotal in my career. My ability to make hair talk in the viewer listen is what sets me apart.

No matter the odds, you will know if this career is for you, and if it is, KEEP GOING!

“ Say Hello To
My Makeup Artist”
**Personal & Career Journey**
Can you tell us about your journey into makeup artistry? What drew you to this field?
Cheerleading is actually what first sparked my interest in makeup. I remember my coach explaining that we needed makeup for competitions so the judges could clearly see our faces and so the action shots would stand out. Our competition makeup was bold — glitter and stars all over the eye area — and I absolutely loved it. That experience introduced me to the creativity and impact makeup can have. While my passion started there, it wasn’t until my 20s that I began truly experimenting and honing my skills as an artist.
What is your go-to makeup style or technique that defines your work? How would you describe your signature look?
I would describe my signature look as “You’re going to look like you”. I’m not an artist that transforms you into someone else. I’m an artist that enhances what you already have so you look like you just a little elevated. I want a client to be able to look in the mirror and see themselves not someone else.

How do you collaborate with photographers, hairstylists, and creative directors on a photoshoot to make sure your makeup aligns with the overall vision?
I love working with a mood board. When a photographer or creative director provides one, it makes the creative process so much smoother. A well-curated mood board often includes the outfits, color palette, overall vision for hair, and inspiration images for makeup. This allows me to design a look that not only aligns with the concept but also enhances the overall aesthetic of the shoot. t ensures that everyone is working toward the same vision, resulting in a cohesive final product.
How do you approach makeup for different skin types and tones? What’s your process for ensuring every model looks their best?
I always like to begin with thorough skin preparation, as I believe it’s the foundation of a flawless makeup application. Proper skin prep ensures that makeup not only looks smooth and even but also wears beautifully throughout the day. In fast-paced environments, such as backstage at a fashion show, it can be challenging to dedicate as much time as I’d like to this step. However, I make sure to do as much as possible within the time constraints to set the makeup up for success.

**Industry Experience & Challenges**
My favorite products include the Danessa Myricks Blurring Balm, Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, and the One Size Setting Spray. My favorite products include the Danessa Myricks Blurring Balm, Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, and the One Size Setting Spray. The Blurring Balm is incredibly versatile — it works beautifully under every foundation I use and delivers a smooth, flawless finish on all skin types. As for setting sprays, I consider both the Urban Decay and One Size formulas essential in my kit because they truly lock in the makeup, ensuring the look lasts throughout the day and performs well under various conditions, including bright lighting and long wear.
During a recent photoshoot, I encountered a situation where one of the models applied an excessive amount of powder under her eyes while I was working on another model. She explained that this was her personal makeup preference. I took the opportunity to respectfully explain that while I always value and consider individual preferences, makeup for photography often requires different techniques than everyday makeup to ensure it looks flattering under studio lighting and in high-resolution images.
In this case, the heavy powder would have created an unflattering, textured appearance on camera. Although correcting it was time-consuming, it was a relatively simple fix, and I was able to adjust it without delaying the shoot.
**Creative Process & Style**
Honestly, I’ve enjoyed every shoot I’ve been a part of. I feel fortunate to work consistently with several talented photographers whose creativity and professionalism make each project a great experience. For example, Mohanshoots always treats the team exceptionally well, creating a collaborative and supportive environment. Moments by Carla is an incredibly inspiring photographer whose passion for her craft is contagious and motivates me to bring my best work. Antwyonephotos gave me my very first opportunity to work on photoshoots, and I remain deeply grateful for that initial chance to showcase my skills and grow in this industry.
How do you stay inspired and up-to-date with makeup trends? Are there any particular techniques or products you're excited about?
My 9-to-5 is at Sephora, which has been invaluable for staying up to date on trends, new product launches, and what’s currently in demand. It allows me to keep my kit fully stocked with reliable staples as well as new products to test on clients. One of the aspects I love is the creative freedom — I can wear anything from bold, over-the-top looks to light, natural makeup, which gives me the opportunity to experiment, refine my skills, and explore new techniques.
I also manage the Beauty Studio at my location, which means I stay in tune with client preferences and emerging trends while also training and mentoring other artists. This role has strengthened my technical skills, customer service abilities, and leadership experience, all of which carry over into my freelance work.
